ACTS 2: 17 IT SHALL COME TO PASS IN THE LAST DAYS, SAYS GOD, THAT I WILL POUR OUT A PORTION OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND: YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY, YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS. YES, EVEN ON MY SERVANTS AND HANDMAIDS I WILL POUR OUT A PORTION OF MY SPIRIT IN THOSE DAYS, AND THEY SHALL PROPHESY."

Parable of long black train, Matthew 7:21, John 3:16, Judges 21:25

Message to unbelievers:  Would you rather be hit by a long, black train or have it miss you by 3/16 of an inch?  Of course, you'd rather it miss you by 3/16 of an inch.  The unbeliever, of course, stands right on the train tracks and convinces himself a train will never, ever come, saying, 'the train doesn't exist, therefore it is so.'
The believer who is betting on John 3:16 for his/her salvation is standing too close to danger, and one wrong move could place him in harm's way...stretched across the rails of sin.  And how could he know what a wrong move is?  He or she won't read any other part of the bible, and he/she won't read the bible because he/she doesn't want to be convicted of his/her sin.  Some of these believers watch what other so-called Christians do and follow along, no matter how worldly they behave.  If they're doing it (and seem to get away with it), they can too, this kind of believer feels.  And if they happen to become wealthy, the more the better.  To our shame, people equate material fortune with God's blessings.  They should read Jesus' parable about the wealthy man and Lazarus, the poor man riddled with sores.
Judges 21:25 In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.
The same is true of today.  But know this:
Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Therefore, one can't simply recognize that Jesus is the son of God in order to be saved.
Satan and his minions even recognize that much.
One must read ALL of the scripture, including old testament.  Don't toss out the Wisdom of Solomon
or Sirach, either.  Don't handpick your scriptures to suit your lifestyle, change your lifestyle so that you're living in accordance with His commandments and teachings.
Side note:  The Lord placed in my heart to tell my prayer group to read Deuteronomy.
I pray that the Lord gives you a hunger to read His word.
